Finally some crop time.

Here's a layout I did at the Lansing crop in February...Was a great time. We were able to meet up with our new friends from the Standish Crop..fun, fun, fun.
I used the Pixar cartridge for this page. The car is my "new/old" car I just got this past fall...a 1994 BMW Z3 Roadster convertible that my grandson calls "Eve" from the movie Wally. Thought that was a great name for her, they look a bit alike don't they..LOL
I'm hoping to have more things ready to assemble at the Novi crop in May. I'm pretty exicted about the Mega Meet and Provocraft coming to it. Will definitely be taking a camera to that one.

Megasaurus page...

Finally finishing up some of the Monster Truck Show pages from last years show...going back to school sure has put a crimp in my scrapping time...LOL Luckily it will be over soon...just a few odds and ends to finish up this fall then I'll have earned my certificate in graphic design..I'll be spending the summer working on my internship which will be creating files and setting up my website to distribute them if I don't find a different venue for distributing them...

Some Updates...

School is winding down a bit and doesn't seem to be as time-consuming this semester (yet...LOL) so I thought I would update my blog with a couple of tutorials that were requested when I put my "From My Kitchen" recipe pages up on the cricut message board...figured I should post them here since I applied to be on a design team and I hope they stop by to see some of my work.

Click here to download or view the tutorials in 4shared.
Thanks for looking.

Couple of new things I've worked on today...

Here's my 2-page layout from the Monster Truck show...As I was taking the picture of the kids in the tires I knew I had to make a giant 2-page layout with the kids in the center of the wheels, still need to do a little more work and journalling, but I love the way it came out...

Here's another layout in the Monster Truck Series. Connor was soooo excited and full of energy that the had to wrestle with poppa so this was how the Monster Truck Night started...LOL

Here's a layout I did from yesterdays birthday pictures...the day was so nice and the kids had a great time outside playing Tee-Ball...

Be Yourself

Here's a layout I whipped together fairly quickly today while waiting for my hubby to get home so we could go out...(he was late-of course-so I finished it...LOL)

I saw a video on YouTube that showed this being made so I tried to do it exactly as they did (different colors...but same concepts). This was made with cuts from the Graphically Speaking cartridge. I must say I had a hard time not "inking/chalking/embellishing" this layout, it's probably the only layout I have in my collection that isn't enhanced with other things besides just paper.

I like this and I think it has given me the "push" I need to get back into making my own pages. Maybe I'll pick a new cartridge every couple of weeks and make a layout using items from each cartridge. What do you think?

Thanks for looking...

Bike Riding Layout

I whipped this layout up this morning after my grandson spent the night with us...he wouldn't ride the tricycle and bicycle last year, but seemed pretty amused by them this year. He'll be 4 years old this month and has finally decided he wants to ride a bike...LOL

The bike and New Wheels came from a pattern I purchased at visualdesignsbychris.com . She makes the most adorable patterns for diecut machines.

Nasty wind outside...might as well work on the blog...

Just a few more things that I finished up for some swaps...I'm getting ready to go back to school so I wanted to have my commitments done as far in advance as I can...I've only got 1 swap each month through the end of the year to work on so I should be able to get them pretty close to done by the time school rolls around...

thanks for stopping by and taking a look around..

Conditioning your mat....

This guy "Cricut Dan" has an interesting theory on how to condition your mat so you don't have the "Dirty Mat" syndrome....Pretty interesting-I'll have to try it the next time I have a new mat.

More Recipe Swaps...

I'm almost done with my recipe swap list so maybe soon I'll have something more to share with you besides recipes..LOL

This one is for a Zoo Animal Swap

I've had a couple of questions as to what I do with the paper piecings I make after I'm done with them so I thought I'd include this one so you can see what I did with the paper piecing after making it.

Hope to get a few pages done soon for my actual "scrapbooks"...they have been terribly neglected lately, need to get back to them I have tons of pics I want to scrap from this year...

Here's something I ran across on another blog...thought this was really an awesome presentation...
check it out-you need to watch it all the way through for it to make sense.

Blog Candy Winner Is......

Brother Robert Ayers...Thank you so much for your kind comments, I'm sure that your wife will enjoy her goodies...hope they help her with her recipe scrapbook. Look for an email from me and I'll get the items right out to you.

And an extra special mention goes out to Bonnie...she is the only one that responded to my blog without being told it was updated...there will be a small appreciation package headed your way soon too...

Here's a couple pics of things I've been working on today. I am cleaning my scraproom (believe it or not...LOL) and instead of putting those "kits/project" away that I'll get time to work on some day, I have decided that they will get completed as I encounter them over the next week or so...I've got tons of things I want altered, wall art, scrapped etc...that I just loved when I bought it, but things like these have been moving around my scraproom for a year or more waiting for their time....Well, their time has come!!!!

This is one of those dollar store frames that has the 3 little colored frames inside...I saw this altered in a magazine from May of last year...ran right out and bought a frame and it has knocked around my scraproom ever since...decided to use a puppy theme and put my grandson & puppies in it...

I bought this kit probably a year and a half ago, I just love these hanging things...at the time I wanted to do a class with this as a make and take, but for some reason it never happened, I had my hubby cut me more "boards" out of a piece of hardboard, just got to drill some holes and maybe I'll get some more of these done up around the house...

My altered clip board, I bought a 3-4 of these, this is the only one I have found so far, but I hurried up and put it together with leftovers from the kit above it...will look nice hanging on a cupboard door with a scratchpad on it for my "gotta have" list...I think I'll make one for the fridge to put my grocery list on.

I'm going to use this popcorn box for a "Snack Swap"
This is my Summer Drink Swap for the WS group. I started working on this yesterday...those ice cubes are a pain in the back side!!! I'll put the recipe I decide on in place today.
Celery Stalks I made for use on an upcoming swap...
My carrot cut...think I'll add a couple more carrots to the bunch next time...
Hope this helps with ideas for food embellishments.

Is Anybody Out There???

These are a couple paper piecings that I have been working on this week to adorn my recipe pages for future swaps...

I've made an extra of each of these...if you would like to be entered into a drawing for them leave me a comment and be sure to include your email so that I can contact you off list for your snail mail addy....I'm just indulging my curiosity here to see if anyone actually reads the comments or if they just look at the pretty pictures on the blogs...LOL

What I've been up to lately

Seems like I've been so busy making swap items that I haven't had time to update my blog or scrap. I'm going to be cutting back on the amount of swaps I'm participating in so that I can get back to making things for me and my books...LOL

Since I have a large file cabinet full of swap items just waiting to be put in books I figured I'd participate in more"recipe" card swaps...here are a few of them....

My 4x6 swap items...thought this would be convenient and quick, but they take me longer for some reason because I guess I can't think "small" when figuring out an embellishment scheme...LOL

Here are a few of my 6x6 cards...

And here are a couple of paper piecing items that I've managed to squeeze in...

Thanks for looking.....

Just after I worked on the recipe tin my daughter called and asked me to write down some of my versions of recipes for her birthday....what a perfect way to package those recipes...LOL So I have finished decorating and have created dividers for the tin, there are also a couple of 4x6 recipes that I did for swaps in there...I'm working on my recipes this weekend...I hope she likes it.

Recipe Items

Here are a few samples of Recipe Cards that I have made for swaps recently....I'm wanting to join a recipe swap group that a friend of mine belongs to so I thought I'd post a few samples in case they stopped by for a look at my work...

While I'm at it...I went to a crop last night so I thought I'd include some pics of the Recipe Tin I'm working on for a Christmas Present...the way it's shaping up it may be for me!!! LOL

I will put a nameplate on the top when I decide who it is for and I'm out of Red Fun-Fur so I'll have to fuzzy up the handle later...
